The position serves as a Student Trainee (Management Analysis) in the DMA Pathways intern program and is concurrently enrolled at an accredited college/university for the purpose of completing the academic curriculum required for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management Analysis or a closely related field. The intern program affords a student the opportunity to receive work experience which is directly related to the student's academic program and career goals.
Duties
The incumbent will serve in a student trainee developmental capacity and receive formal classroom and/or on-the-job training in principles, concepts, and work processes to specialize in the Management Analysis fields of study.
Assignments build on prior training to expand the students understanding of the organization, the programs, policies and objectives of the agency.
Assists in development, consolidation, and analysis of routine management data.
Assists in development, analysis, and dissemination of consolidated workload resource data; and conducts studies regarding operations relating to manpower, facilities, capabilities, management improvement, productivity improvement, workflow and resources.

- Must be enrolled as a degree OR degree seeking student in an accredited institution of higher education, at least part time, and remain enrolled for the duration of the internship (proof of enrollment is required with your application package).
- Remain in good academic standing in accordance with Participant Agreement. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment.
- Transcript must state major, earned credit hours, and cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0, and must include school and student identification on them or they will NOT be considered.
- This position is in the excepted service.
- Must submit current and future transcripts as proof of enrollment.
- Selectee will be required to sign pathways agreement.
- Must be enrolled in college/university throughout internship
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. Completed at least one year of education above the high school level that has been completed in an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university. (One academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION may be qualifying if a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses.
Unofficial transcripts from U.S. Department of Education accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions listing your name, the name of the school, the date and degree awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned are acceptable for the application process. If selected, official transcripts are required before a firm job offer is made. A photocopy of your degree/diploma is not acceptable.
When relying on foreign education, submit transcripts and a copy of the equivalency evaluation results letter with a course-by-course listing.
