This position is with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), an independent authority within the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Duties
This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), Office of the Chief Network and Technology Officer, located either in Reston, VA or Boulder, CO. This is a summer internship, not-to-exceed 90 days.
At the full performance level (ZP-1) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Analyzing data and developing trend charts using excel, SharePoint and/or power point, and using other related software or analysis, AI and visualization tools to automate review, validation, analysis, and showing of data.
2. Supporting conduct of network and device evaluation test cases and procedures, and/or the execution of evaluation test cases in the lab or field environments. Providing support to technical and FirstNet Authority mission-specific conferences or engagements.
3. Supporting testing activities or product evaluations utilizing state-of-the-art lab test equipment such as network simulators, channel emulators, vector signal generators, spectrum/protocol analyzers, head & torso simulator, and audio booth.
The FirstNet Authority has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information - ZP-I:
Reston, VA: $34,121 - 65,425 per annum
Boulder, CO: $34,121 - 63,766 per annum
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Pathways Internship Eligibility Requirements and (2) the Minimum Qualification Requirement defined below.
1) Pathways Internship Eligibility
To be eligible for this internship all of the following requirements must be met:
1. You must be at least 16 years of age
2. You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree or certificate program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or part-time basis.
3. If enrolled, you must be in good academic standing (At least a 2.0 GPA)
4. You must provide a transcript (official or unofficial) and proof of enrollment/acceptance.
NOTE: You must continue to meet these eligibility requirements throughout the duration of your appointment under the Pathways Internship Program.
2) Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify at the ZP-1 or GS-01 level:
Enrollment in a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) program.
NOTE: You must submit transcripts and proof of current enrollment. Failure to provide this information will result in disqualification.
