About the Position: This is a permanent position as a Supervisory Education & Training Advisor with the Soldier Support Institute, Adjutant General School at Fort Jackson SC.
Duties
Serves as full deputy to the Commandant, U.S. Army Adjutant General School (USAAGS), fully participating in all activities of mission execution.
Serves as an advisor and as the principal representative of the Commandant at high-level conferences.
Meetings with representatives from Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Army (DA), Major Army Command (MACOM), other commands, military services and agencies, and private industry.
Participates in management and manpower surveys and assures implementation of management improvement programs.
Assists the Commandant in the analysis, design, development and integration of doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, personnel, leadership, personnel, facilities. And policy (DOTMLPF-p) requirements for the Adjutant General’s Corps.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Education & Training Advisor:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Finance, Human Resource Management or Administrative Degrees.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study], plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) coordinating the development and testing of new materiel and automation concepts and doctrine for tactical organization; 2) overseeing the development of Human Resources training programs and postal for the full-time military students; 3) making recommendations on allocation of funds to ensure accomplishment of missions and functions within budgeting and manpower limitations imposed by higher headquarters; AND 4) conducting internal personnel administration and management tasks within the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
