This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Administrative Support Specialist for the Human Resources Division, exercising, independent judgment and discretion in assisting in the preparation and processing of confidential employee matters.

As an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST, your typical work assignments may include: Supporting the Human Resources Division leadership by gathering and tracking data, electronic files, databases, correspondence. Serving as an HR Liaison in the requests for personnel actions, working closely with all stakeholders to ensure proper information and documentation is accurate throughout the entire process/phases. Providing administrative support to audits, reviews, and property management, inventories, supplies and logistics utilization. Representing the organization as the contracting officer representative on all aspects of contracts, from the initiation, oversight and lifecycle management. Managing several aspects of records management for the organization and follows policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent. For GS-11: One year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Planning, coordinating, and organizing office and department activities; 2) Maintaining confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information and personnel management; 3) Consolidating data from staff, preparing reports, managing contract acquisition, drafting briefing slides. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes: Competencies: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competencies in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComplianceContracting/ProcurementPersonnel and Human Resources Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F).
