About the position: This position will be assigned to the Sustainment Services Flight located at Tyndall AFB.
This is a Flexible position.
Duties
Officiate Intramural Team Sports which may include: Flag Football, Basketball, Softball, Soccer, and Volleyball. Sports officiating is a seasonal employment opportunity.
The Intramural Sports Official shall, to the best of his/her ability, officiate and/or keep accurate records and score of those contests sponsored by the Fitness and Sports Center, in accordance with the rules of the sport and the regulations of the fitness center.
Maintain orderly conduct on the court or field to which he/she is assigned.
Obtain necessary equipment and score sheets when reporting to work and checking in with supervisor; and must return the equipment at the conclusion of each session.
Arrive at the court/field prior to scheduled game time 15 minutes before game.
Ensure that game equipment functions properly and that games are played under safe conditions; report the need for facility or equipment repairs to the sports director or employee on duty.
Penalize and document in accordance with the rules of the sport and the local by laws of any unsportsmanlike conduct by players, coaches to the sports director.
Ensure that no participants are wearing illegal equipment; Wear the appropriate officiating attire to all games scheduled.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Interest in Sports and Recreation, current knowledge of sport rules or willingness to learn officiating protocol of sports, good decision-making skills, and good interpersonal skills. Officials need to be mature and honest, have a positive attitude. Satisfactorily complete and National Agency Check (NAC)
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
