Duties

You will perform a variety of functions on a wide range of issues, provide advice and recommendations for Network administration. You will install new or modified hardware, operating systems, Network Devices, Routers and Firewalls. You will manage accounts, network devices, and access to systems and equipment. You will manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates and enhancements. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of network administration services.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensures and manages systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, integrity, efficiency and recoverability. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Administering the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommends resolution to problems and issues, prepares and presents reports and plans, and coordinates projects to meet future needs. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Administering the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems to include routers, switches, workstations and servers in an Operational Technology (OT)/Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environment; 2) Resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; 3) Visit sites to install hardware/software, administer the network and support the OT/ICS systems to maintain the ICS infrastructure; 4) Evaluate and recommend system products, diagnostic tools and upgrades to meet current and emerging needs; and 5) Perform system administration to troubleshoot and determine solutions for the installed operating systems.
