This position is located in the Office of Maritime Labor and Training, Office of the Deputy Associate Administrator for Maritime Education and Training, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration (MARAD).

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include: Experience assisting in implementing or developing maritime workforce, training, or educational programs. Experience providing administrative and program outreach support to government, military, educational institutions, or maritime industry stakeholders. Experience inputting and verifying data in databases and spreadsheets for preparing and generating reports. To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include: Experience leading the implementation of maritime, educational or workforce outreach initiatives and engaging with a broad group of stakeholders within government, military, education sectors, or maritime industry to promote and support student or workforce programs and outreach activities. Experience providing maritime administrative and program oversight including reviewing, evaluating, and implementing funding requests and advising on standard operating procedures. Experience inputting and verifying data in databases and spreadsheets and preparing and generating reports. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Manage and Organize Information - Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. Performance Measurement - Knowledge of the principles and methods for evaluating program or organizational performance using financial and nonfinancial measures, including identification of evaluation factors (for example, workload, personnel requirements), metrics, and outcomes. Technical Competence - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
