About the position: This position will be assigned to the Polar Bowl bowling center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Duties

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of limited maintenance work within a bowling facility. Cleans, oils, and polishes the bowling lanes and lane approaches adhering to established standards. Sweeps, dusts, and cleans other areas of the bowling facility; collects and removes trash; and maintains all areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Hand sands and varnishes minor flaws in lanes until surface can be conditioned. Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary, and performs periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Maintains stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems. • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical to include a hearing test.

Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
