This position is part of the WAPA-UGP-Upper Great Plains. As a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the regional construction safety program within the Upper Great Plains; and as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Western Area Power Administration's (WAPA's) Construction Safety Committee.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty locations identified.**

As a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will:
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL the following:
Experience implementing a safety program and leading a team of safety professionals.
Experience applying knowledge of safety and health standards, laws, codes, and policies for employees engaged in a broad range of high-hazard functions in the construction of high-voltage power systems.
Experience communicating safety practices to craft employees, contractors, and management officials to ensure measures are in place for the safe construction of high-voltage power systems.
Ability to read and evaluate preliminary engineering reports and related design drawings and specifications on all aspects of proposed construction projects, repair, and maintenance.
