This position is located in the Division of Finance of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of General Travel Regulations, customer service performance standards, and management reports to administer an efficient and effective program. Duties

Assists the Manager, Travel Services Section, in improving the efficiency and productivity in travel, audit, and relocation functions. Serves as Oversight Manager on multiple major contracts for travel, audit, and relocation services working closely with the Technical Monitor for each contract and the contractor's lead representative to confirm that the services were provided per the contract, the amounts billed were accurate, and difficult or complex issues related to the contractor's services are resolved satisfactorily. Serves as lead author on proposed revisions to the General Travel Regulations and directives/circulars/bulletins relative to travel, audit, and relocation policies and procedures. Participates with senior management in developing broad policy initiatives affecting travel, audit, and relocation management programs for the Corporation. Attends meetings with senior staff and advises on status of projects, recommendations on changes in travel, audit, and relocation policies, regulation, or directives. Serves as FDIC representative in meetings and conferences with employees of other Federal agencies, private industry, and various travel, audit, and relocation services companies to keep abreast of industry trends and to ensure that comprehensive services and information provided to employees is of the highest quality. Develops materials for and administers presentations on travel, audit, and relocation policies and procedures at conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars, recruitment efforts, new hire orientations and regional outreach programs. Coordinates responses to OIG/GAO audits of travel, audit, and relocation functions. Completes reconciliations of assigned travel related accounts/transactions, and reviews reconciliations.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as (1)  providing advice and guidance on travel, relocation, or travel audit policies and procedures; (2) researching, interpreting, evaluating sources of information and recommending changes in policies; and (3) Developing and delivering presentations on travel and relocation program management practices, policies and procedures.
