You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Administrative Department, Security Division. of SUPSHIP GULF COAST. You will serve as the Physical Security, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) and Operations Security (OPSEC) Officer. You will establish, direct, plan, coordinate and control all phases of the ATFP and OPSEC Programs.

Duties

You will implement policy and guidance to include planning, programming and budgeting for ATFP projects and programs. You will develop the physical security/force protection plan and ensure it contains response procedures for various types of terrorist incidents (e.g., hostage barricade, bomb threat, kidnapping, sabotage, etc.). You will ensure the coordination, development and implementation of anti-terrorism and OPSEC orientation. Institutes anti-terrorism pre-departure education program to include local threat, terrorist threat awareness and travel security. You will establish a program requiring reporting to the appropriate Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) office on any terrorist organization, sabotage, or subversive activity. You will represent the command at security conferences meetings and in dealings with higher echelon commands and commercial industrial organizations on ATFP and OPSBC related matters. You will evaluate threats through analysis of counter intelligence products and contacts and recommends defensive postures to counter those threats. You will serve as the Anti-Terrorism Training Officer ensuring annual training is conducted and providing general and theater specific terrorist briefs. You will perform extensive liaison work with state and local law enforcement officials, FBI, NCIS, Customs, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and similar organizations for the purpose of identifying threats.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and evaluating comprehensive Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) programs ranging from Threat and Vulnerability Assessment, Force Protection plans effecting personnel and property assets for an organization.
