Duties
Prepares a wide variety of recurring internal reports and documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources, based on a knowledge of the rules and procedures applicable to clerical assignments.
Responds to routine and non-technical requests for information such as status of reports, suspense dates for matters requiring compliance, and similar information readily available from files.
Screens correspondence and material to identify items, which need to be brought to the attention of the supervisor, referred to appropriate staff, rerouted to other organizations, or handled personally.
Uses a Personal Computer (PC) or workstation and a variety of office automation software in support of Accounts Payable.
Makes travel arrangements based on general travel intentions, known preferences of the traveler, and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations.
Prepares and consolidates time and attendance data and submits to appropriate payroll office.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-5) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: performing a variety of administrative support functions which includes providing administrative, technical, and general office support duties to an organization; providing support and assistance on personnel, supply, training, and budget reporting and processes; utilizing office automation to create, retrieve, update, manipulate and store electronic data; and preparing, editing, and formatting documents and reports.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-5 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
GS-06 Substitution of Education for Experience: Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled.
