The Supervisory Veterans Service Representative (Assistant Coach) is the full alter ego of the Coach performing the duties of that position in the absence of the Coach or sharing those responsibilities on a daily basis. This includes ensuring the continuity of team supervision. This position is the assistant supervisor of one of the teams located within the Veterans Service Center (VSC), Benefits Eligibility Support Team (BEST), or Pension Management Center (PMC).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:04/26/2024. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If you are a current VBA employee requesting a reassignment or change to lower grade via this announcement, you must currently hold the GS-12 or higher and the promotion potential of your current position must be at least GS-12. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-12 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is defined as performance of technical assignments affecting the entire field of VA's compensation and pension (C&P) benefits programs. These assignments would have required interpretation of the full range of C&P laws and regulations, to include precedent opinions of the Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims and authoritative opinions of the General Counsel. Experience may have been gained as a VSR Authorizer, RVSR, AQRS or DRO. Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week. Physical Requirements: The work normally involves mental rather than physical exertion. The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, and carrying of light items.
