About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Clinical Support, Nutrition Care at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) with the Defense Health Agency, Indo-Pacific Market, Hawaii Region. The incumbent of this position serves as Supervisor in the Food Production and Service Branch exercising full supervisory responsibility for 20-25 workers engaged in food and pastry preparation, meat processing, patient tray service and sanitation service.

Duties

Provide information or decision regarding problems that arise during work. Update prices and menu items in an automated system. Train employees on proper procedures or regulations. Maintain balanced workloads for subordinate work groups or units. Oversee cooking services of the cooking team.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• One-year supervisory probationary period required.
• This position requires successful completion of pre-placement and annual medical examinations.
• This position requires rotating shift work, to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• This position requires rotating shifts every few days according to mission: 4:30 am - 1:00 pm; 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.
• This position may require overtime work.
• All employees assigned to a Medical Treatment Facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". The incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission during severe weather and emergency conditions.

Worker is exposed to the danger of minor cuts, bruises and burns from equipment. There is danger of slipping on floor which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverages have been spilled. Work is performed on non-resilient tile flooring. Worker is exposed to extreme temperature changes in moving from hot kitchen areas to walk in cold storage areas.
