About the Position: This position is with the Nutrition Care Division, Production and Service Branch located at Tripler Army Medical Center, on the Island of Oahu, HI. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Inform workers of instructions received from the supervisor. Ensure that all recipes, supplies, equipment and cooking utensils are available for use. Inform supervisor of status and progress of work. Prepare a variety of menu items. Assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Work along with others, preparing a variety of menu items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical examination and annual thereafter.
  • This position is designated as mission essential. The incumbent will be required to ensure continuity of Tripler Army Medical Center's operations during ALL hazard's emergency situations.
  • This position may require lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • This position requires rotating shifts 0430-1300, 0600-1420, 0930-1800, to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • This position may require overtime work.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In addition, I can demonstrate proper work methods, and answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and/or other directive. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Working Conditions: Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used; and is exposed to cooking oils, grease and heat from ovens. There is danger of slipping on floors which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverage has been dropped.
