You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (WATER SURVIVAL) in the Naval Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC), Naval Survival Training Institute Detachment (NSTI), Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC) of NMOTC DET NSTI ASTC CHERRY PT.

Duties

You will serves as the ASTC Diving Supervisor. You will serve as Primary Instructor, Safety Swimmer, Instructor Evaluator, and Lifeguard for the Naval Aviation Survival Training Program. You will conduct swimming and diving training as it relates to water survival techniques, underwater egress procedures, and underwater breathing. You will perform and document weekly maintenance using 3M systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience instructing a diverse group of personnel, (e.g., military/civilian aircrew and passengers) in emergency/lifesaving procedures in the event of an aircraft bailout, ejection or ditching; Experience conducting training activities and formal classes in water survival techniques, underwater egress procedures, survival swimming and underwater breathing; Experience instructing/performing diving water survival/diving training exercises in accordance with safety operating procedures; Experience training and qualifying all divers while adhering to governing guideline, (e.g., Command Dive Bill); Experience conducting and documenting weekly diver training sessions within individual training jackets; AND Experience maintaining records for diving qualification (dive Logs, conducting preventative maintenance on systems (PMS), and diving systems certification.) Experience preparing reports and maintaining documents in electronic files for easy retrieval.
