About the Position: This position is with the Provost Marshal Office at Tripler Army Medical Center, on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.
A locality rate of 21.79% has been authorized for Hawaii. A cost of living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 8.90% (subject to change).
Duties
Use an automated system to issue an ID card.
Issue ID Cards and Common Access Cards to eligible individuals for privilege requests.
Receive phone calls into office to answer inquires or coordinate with other personnel.
Respond to personnel and telephone inquiries concerning ID Cards, enrollment and privileges for legal compliance and policy advisory.
Operate a computer terminal to input data and retrieve data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The Incumbent may be subject to a one-year probationary period or 1-year trial period.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency-type situations (e.g. natural or man-made disasters), the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- This position requires a SECRET security clearance. The incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- The Incumbent must be a qualified typist able to type 40 words per minute (40wpm).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Using a computer and word processor to generate correspondence; 2) assisting with verification of eligibility for and issuance of identification (ID) cards; 3) maintaining files and records; and 4) applying department or command directives, guidelines, and polices appropriately. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
