You will serve as a OPERATIONS & AIRSPACE MODERNIZATION ANALYST in the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Duties

You will plan and manage of all aspects of existing range and airspace scheduling operations for the Fallon Range Training Complex and you will function as a key agent in assisting NAWDC to develop and implement airspace modernization and enhancement You will be responsible for issues regarding range scheduling, prioritization, conflicts, de-confliction, and the efficient and safe use of existing training range resources. You will be required to coordinate with multiple range stakeholders to assess and schedule user requirements into the range scheduling system. You will coordinate with the range support contractor and their government representative on the availability of range support systems and prioritize user requirements with range system capabilities and availabilities based on doctrinal priorities. You will maintain data within the range scheduling system a long-term future outlook of six months of planned operations and advises NAWDC Operations staff on future conflicts and seeks conflict and prioritization resolution in advance. You will work in coordination with the NAWDC Operations Officer and the NAWDC training departments to determine requirements and develop airspace initiatives to support current and future advanced training requirements. You will coordinate extensively with numerous stakeholders to negotiate, design, update, and implement current and future airspace initiatives. You will be required to have a mastery of and extensive background in air traffic control, airspace and FAA policy and requirements, military aviation operations, and naval aviation training requirements.. Reviews and monitors the range scheduling system for accuracy, scheduling conflicts and potential areas of increased risk and takes appropriate action to mitigate concerns.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing all aspects of range scheduling operations (e.g. scheduling of special use and restricted airspace, military operating areas, working areas, air traffic controlled assigned airspace, ordnance and bombing ranges and training systems support requirements) by interpreting data and developing long range operating plans in order maximize use of the airspace and training areas. .
