This position is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration, Health Systems Bureau, Division of Transplantation, Blood Stem Cell Transplantation Branch. Duties

Nurse Consultants are a mission critical occupation for HRSA. These positions are critical in supporting Health Resources and Services Administration's nursing care and treatment for outpatient, specialty clinics, urgent care and/or emergency patients. As a Supervisory Nurse Consultant, you will serve as the as the Branch Chief, supporting the Division of Transplantation Director (DoT) and Deputy Director. In this role you will focus on the development and implementation of a strategic plan to assure achievement of the Division's goals and objectives, to support effective oversight of blood stem cell donation and transplantation systems, along with oversight of the national cord blood inventory. Your major duties and responsibilities include: Directing a staff of technical professionals and personnel engaged in supporting multiple contracts to support national programs for blood stem cell transplantation, with the overall objective of expanding access to and increasing the number of life-saving bone marrow and umbilical cord blood transplants performed across the Nation. Providing guidance to the DoT Director and Deputy Director on trends in blood stem cell donation and transplantation. Analyzing and evaluating on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of DoT's blood stem cell transplantation programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Collaborating with HRSA and Bureau staff in using transplantation research, information, and data to make informed decisions and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of blood stem cell transplantation programs. Providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the Branch. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
