This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This is a Supply Technician (Office Automation), GS-2005-06 position located at Tooele Army Depot, Directorate of Ammunition Operations, Tooele, UT.
Duties
Check for accuracy and presence of stock number, nomenclature, priority, destination, due dates, unit of measure, and quantity for compliance with established regulations.
Work as a liaison with personnel in other organizations, such as surveillance, transportation, inventory, and shipment planners to ensure all hazardous information on documents is correct so material can be properly packed and certified.
Prepare the shippers certification for hazardous material when any type of hazard is involved.
Prepare a variety of shipping address labels using computer printer and applies them to individual shipments.
Maintain logs for shipping documents and shipment planning worksheet; keep records of all shipments worked and all documents shipped on a daily basis, and transfer information to computer record.
Type a variety of correspondence including letters and memorandum.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is subject to random drug testing.
- Certified Typist is required.
- Required to meet the requirements of Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition and Explosives in accordance with AR 190-11.
- Required to complete the General Transportation of Hazardous Materials Course within 6 months of appointment, MTMC II, and keep certification current.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience following procedures for filling out, controlling, or coding supply, contract, or requisition documents; and providing status of supply transactions using automated supply system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Physical Demands: Incumbent is required to apply labels to different types of ammunition packages, including those containing hazard material. Employee uses hand cart to move packages around in order to apply appropriate labels. Employee is required to stand and/or walk on hard surface floors. Work requires some bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching in order to apply labels to ammunition packages.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
