This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Operations, Assistant Commandant for Intelligence & Criminal Investigations (CG-2), Coast Guard Cryptologic Group (CGCG), Ft. Meade, MD.

Duties

You will serve as a Policy Analyst and Cryptologic Engagement Officer leading a cross directorate team of Intelligence Specialists (IS) through the Senior Officer level for developing and executing strategic Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) relations plans for Coast Guard Cryptologic Enterprise (CGCE). You will also serve as a Deputy Team Leader providing analysis of proposed legislative actions pertaining to SIGINT and determining the potential impact and developing appropriate responses for CGCE.Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications

At the GS-14 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work such as:  Providing broad strategic and operational guidance to advance and sustain cryptologic near, mid, and long-range objectives. Participating in complex engagement and forecasting for appropriate resourcing, capabilities, training, and manning levels and champions DoD and the intelligence community. Initiating, managing, and evaluating complex and sensitive projects, programs, and activities. Developing, projecting and revising long-range estimates within the intelligence infrastructure. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
