About the Position: This position is located at Fort Carson Colorado, at Evans Army Community Hosptial. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credentials are highly desired but not required.

Duties

Receive and review prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals, to include controlled drugs on the formulary. Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed. Enter medication orders accurately into the appropriate computer system, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and SOPs. Ensure proper use, operation, and maintenance of pharmacy systems and equipment. Enter or retrieve patient data from an automated healthcare system to support accurate treatment records. Document pertinent information in electronic medical records according to standard procedures.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credentials are highly desired but not required.
