About the Position: Serves as a Management Support Specialist for the Army Materiel Command (AMC), providing assistance to the Division Chief in coordinating efforts of daily activities such as material management, receipt, storage, management and distribution of Army multi-media products, performing complex studies and formulating plans.
Duties
Promote safety awareness, investigate accidents, report findings.
Maintain Facility HAZCOM, HAZMAT, and Hazardous Disposal programs/processes/training.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing security procedures and practices.
Provide introductory safety brief for new employees.
Responsible for facility Intrusion Detection System and codes.
Maintain local training database/spreadsheet as well as automated tracking systems to track employee's annual required training, including specialized training for more the technical positions.
Receive Higher-HQ mandatory Inspection Checklist, disseminate to applicable personnel/branches within the facility, track to completion, and provide final reportable data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Ensure compliance for all matters related to warehouse & office safety/security; inspect facilities and review building and construction design; draft facility regulations and policies; coordinate with OSHA office on HAZMAT/HAZCOM issues; conduct accident investigations and inspections; coordinate actions for the hiring and placement of individuals with disabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
Education
