You will serve as a CONGRESSIONAL AND LEGISLATIVE SPECIALIST of PERS WASHINGTON.

Duties

You will prepare senior leaders for congressional interactions (e.g., congressional hearings, testimonies, briefings, correspondence). You will determine whether investigations are out of the scope of the Congressional Liaison office. You will prepare a written summary of information from correspondence to present to a supervisor

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develop statements, requests for information, reports and/or other products that are delivered to the Hill. 2) Analysis of legislation, regulations, and policy statements to facilitate establishing guidance and procedures for position development on legislative initiatives, report to congress and inquiries. 3) Lead other staff by planning, directing and evaluating work performed by ad hoc teams. 4) Interface with congressional members and their staffs, as well as committee staff. 5) Provide resident expertise for manpower and personnel legislation coordination Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
