About the Position: You will serve as Foreman over the Water Operations Unit, exercising full supervisory responsibility for control over work operations. This job is also advertised under Announcement Number CERD249667336857 (Time-limited Assignment) open to current Army civilian employees.

Duties

Direct the operation of a conventional surface water treatment plant to comply with local federal Safe Drinking Water Act regulations. Utilize instrumentation and laboratory techniques to determine operational changes to maintain water quality and supply volume. Instructs subordinates on new procedures, and provide advice when problems arise. Explain work requirements, methods and procedures. Adjust plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Required to possess and maintain a Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification Class-4 by the American Boards of Certification (ABC) or Equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a confined space proficiency certification within 12 months of employment and perform confined space entry.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis. And in an "on call" status.
• Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
• Required to complete a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
• This position has been designated as “Key” and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
• This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) maybe required approximately 5% of the time.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
• A one year supervisory probation period may be required.
