Leonard Wood provides customer support in the acquisition of quality, cost effective and timely delivery of services, construction and supplies to sustain the warfighter and support the missions of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood Garrison activities and tenant organizations.

Duties

Serve as a warranted Contracting Officer with limited signatory authority, executing selected contractual requirements for supplies, equipment, construction, or services on behalf of the government. Perform pre-award and post-award contracting functions in the development, justification, coordination, and completion of a large number and variety of procurement transactions from time of receipt to award, administration, and close out. Review procurement actions for complex equipment and services to assure completeness. Provide guidance in the development of the statement of work and data requirements. Explain Federal contracting procedures to potential suppliers and determines the most advantageous time to solicit bids for expanded competition. Respond to inquiries, including formal protests and Congressional inquiries from interested parties.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Position requires certification per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements necessary to obtain a Contracting Officer Warrant, authorizing signature and the full range of responsibilities that accompany contracting officer duties.
