Duties
Serves as an expert on inventory account processing to the DLA Energy Regions and/or Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSPs).
Provides instruction, direction, and assistance on matters relative to product accountability, system processes, and resolution of inventory accounting and billing discrepancies.
Works resolution across process areas including Finance, Inventory Management, Order Management, Technical Quality and Procurement related to product quality, transportation, invoice, and supply discrepancies.
Reviews Movements Under Investigation (MUI) reports for excessive in-transit gains/losses and ensures DFSP conducts causative research to determine the reasons for the excessive in-transit gains/losses.
Monitors and analyzes the daily fuel inventory records for Defense Working Capital Funded DLA-owned petroleum inventory at assigned DFSPs for timeliness and accuracy.
Works with several different fuel accounting systems and draws on practical work experience to resolve discrepancies between the various inventory systems and inventory account reconciliation problems.
Ensures excessive daily operating gains/losses are investigated as they occur by the DFSPs and adequate explanations are documented.

Qualifications
To qualify for a General Supply Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Experience performing inventory account processing, product accountability, and resolving billing discrepancies.
Experience monitoring unmatched purchase and stock transfer movements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
