This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Capital Markets and Accounting Policy Branch, Policy and Risk Analytics Section, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in all pertinent matters relating to climate related financial risks and emerging, complex, and novel risks. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-14: To qualify for the CG-14 grade level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience with providing senior management with recommendations on policies related to corporate business approaches and functions, policy matters related to organizational strategic business plans, and developing credible resolution strategies for novel risks. CG-15: To qualify for the CG-15 grade level, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience with developing rules, regulations, and supervisory guidance affecting the capital markets, banking sector, risk profile, and other related emerging, complex, and novel risks affecting large financial institutions and community banks, to ensure the timely identification and ongoing monitoring of risks posed by these institutions to the deposit insurance fund.  Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
