The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is April - October, but can be variable. Duties

Duties require a variety of skills such as carpentry, minor electrical, masonry, plumbing, and painting associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and related facilities. Performs construction and maintenance of buildings, docks, and campgrounds. Plans work from blueprints, schematics, specifications, sketches, verbal instructions, and estimates material for assigned projects. Stabilizes structures by replacing footings, replaces siding, and rebuilds floors. Repairs or replaces asphalt rolled and· shingled roofs, wood shingled roofs, screens, floor coverings, dock planks, and screen doors. Installs and/or replaces windows, joists, studs, rafters, and siding. Maintains and constructs docks by replacing cribbing, planking, cleats, and filling in approaches. Makes minor electrical repairs and connections where required such as installing extra circuit breakers in main panel to accommodate new circuits for receptacles, lighting or appliances. Uses conduit benders, electrical meters, and various electrical hand tools. Performs minor repairs to plumbing systems, replaces and or installs sinks, water closets, urinals, laundry tubs, faucet washers, valves, water meters, supply lines, drain traps, and unplugs commodes and repairs leaks. Repairs or replaces interior finishes such as paneling and drywall. Scrapes and paints buildings, shelters, picnic tables and privies, using paints, stains or preservatives. Repairs to damaged or rotting materials as required. Performs concrete and masonry work. Mixes, pours, and finishes concrete for floors, poured walls, foundations, and footings, insuring properly mixed materials and quality finishes to all floors. Lays cement blocks, brick, and stone for foundation walls, chimneys, and fireplaces. Operates inboard and outboard motor boats up to 24 feet in length.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: 1. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) 2. Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. 3. Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) 4. Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) 5. Measurement and Layout 6. Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment 7. Dexterity and Safety Physical Demands: Works in wood shops, other buildings, and at construction and repair sites. Climbs on ladders and scaffolds. Carry objects up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifts or moves items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers. Required to stand for extended periods while operating machines such as bench planers, saws, and drill presses. Working Conditions: Works both inside and outside. Some work is performed in shop areas where worker is exposed to moderate to high noise levels and sawdust in the air, glue fumes, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment. When working at job sites, may also be exposed to hazards associated while working on scaffolds or ladders or weather conditions when completing projects outdoors. Education
