About the Position: The mission of the Logistical Readiness Center is to provide general supply support to the tenants that comprise the Natick Soldier Systems Center.

Duties

Incumbent serves as subject matter expert (SME) regarding the establishment, data quality, operation, and training requirements of the Global Combat Support System (GCSS Army). Plans, organizes, and manages the Automated Property Book with responsibility for implementing pertinent Army Regulations regarding property book management and operations applicable to the automated property book systems in use at the installation. Schedules and performs inventory counts and reconciliations. Performs in-depth research and causative analysis when property record balance discrepancies are identified as a result of physical inventories, and Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPL). Responsible for posting accountable transaction documents to property records. Monitors progress of programs and coordinates all elements of logistical planning with designated functional personnel. Ensures that all supply requests are reviewed for fund availability by coordinating with all of the various funding activities and program directors. Exercises direct accountability for all non-dispensable and other specially designated property in accordance with AR 735-5, AR 710-2, and other applicable Army guidance.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position required the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) security investigation.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position may require the incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) utilizing supply management concepts and methodologies to requisition a variety of items; 2) maintaining accountability of property management though control procedures for a highly diverse mission; 3) reviewing inventory for discrepancies; and 4) utilizing automated systems relate to items such as record keeping, inventory, and property book management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Successful completion of at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university. Major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.). OR Combination of Education and Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 18 hours (total semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
