You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Management Branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will collect and maintain data for preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports utilizing the Navy Enterprise Resource Program (N-ERP), Material Management Tool-MB51 (MS Access) and various websites/programs. You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic physical inventories of hazardous material, ensuring all stock records are accurate and resolve any/correct any discrepancies as needed. You will monitor usage data and research changes in trends and validate that only authorized levels of HAZMAT is maintained on station. You will receive and process customer order requests for hazardous material, provide status to customers and information on handling hazardous material via Material Safety Data Sheet to customers upon request.

Requirements

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following: 1) Working knowledge of established methods and procedures on the Navy Supply System for inventory management and requisition processing; 2) Working knowledge of established methods and procedures in Navy systems and programs including N-ERP, HM and CHRIMP; 3) Performing technical screening on all requested materials to ensure materials meet customer requirements as well as ensuring materials are environmentally compliant; 4) Monitoring usage data and researches changes in trends to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
