About the Position: This position is with the Army Geospatial Center located at the Humphreys Engineer Center Support Activity, 7701 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22315.
Duties
Serves as Interdisciplinary analyst within a focused geospatial support Team of a Branch of the Warfighter Support Directorate, Army Geospatial Center (AGC).
Collaborate on the work of supporting scientists and geospatial engineers within AGC, Army Geospatial Planning Cells (GPC), outside agencies, and contractors concerned with the Army geospatial mission support.
Serves as Liaison between the AGC’s Warfighter Support Directorate and the Army Geospatial Planning Cells (GPC) for co-production efforts in support of the Army Geospatial Enterprise (AGE).
Exploit imagery and static data sets to accurately determine and geospatially depict key terrain and man-made features using a variety of geospatial information systems and services.
Act as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) and conduct surveillance activities on externally produced geospatial datasets related to agreements, contracts and contractors.
Educate customers on availability and capabilities of geospatial datasets, methodologies, procedures, and algorithms to enhance mission awareness.
Analyze, develop, test, and evaluate new processes, methodologies, and products using geospatial data and imagery.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and/or sustain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel up to 20% of the duty time.
- This position requires the incumbent to submit to a pre-employment drug test, and randomly thereafter.

In addition to meeting the education requirements for one of the above series, you must also meet the following:
Experience required for the GS-12 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: formulating and conducting analytical, geospatial, and state-of-the art Geographic Information Systems data integration and automated cartographic research and analysis initiatives; reviewing mapping and geospatial products to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations; and analyzing data holdings, including reliability evaluations, to compile and disseminate information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Experience required for the GS-13 Grade Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting with the integration of complex geospatial data, using geographic information systems; using automated cartography, remote sensing extraction techniques and other relevant technologies; conducting surveillance activities on automated information system related contracts and contractors; and performing method applications development and data integration. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
