About the Position: Incumbent directly supports the senior commander and is responsible for supporting the coordination and implementation of comprehensive primary prevention activities that address individual, interpersonal, organizational and community factors that contribute to sexual harassment and sexual assault. Incumbent works for and reports directly to the Supervisory LEAD SARC Principal.

Duties

As SHARP Program Prevention Specialist (SAR SW), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Provide technical and policy assistance in resolving problem areas related to the prevention of sexual harassment and assault. Recognize existing or potential risk factors that can lead to sexual harassment or sexual assault. Identify protective factors that can minimize the risk or prevent sexual harassment and sexual assault. Facilitate prevention activities for the installation that span across the socio-ecological model to address potential risk factors and bolster protective factors. Promote the development of methods and techniques required to execute the primary prevention capability. Conduct data analysis to determine effectiveness of prevention activities. Brief leadership regarding command prevention efforts and impact, barriers to execution (e.g., lack of a supportive environment). Build and sustain productive collaborative relationships with other specialists involved in integrated primary prevention.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 10% of the time.
  • Position requires working overtime on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • Incumbent is required to successfully complete OSD and/or Army-level prevention training course and completion of all requirements within 90 days of being in the position.
  • Background checks will be conducted against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulation; AND will be conducted, prior to entering on duty, IAW governing regulations, on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • Must submit a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check for all states of residence in the previous 5-10 years. All information provided is subject to investigation, including a check of your fingerprints, police records and former employers.

Use the Social Ecological Model (SEM) to examine the complex interplay between individual, relationship, community, and societal factors. Establish primary prevention activities to include determining goals, objectives, measures of performance, measures of effectiveness, assessments, and milestones.
