About the Position: This is a Supervisory Prevention Program Manager position at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.
Duties
The Prevention Program Manager is responsible for coordinating implementation of primary prevention, to include, monitoring and evaluation, to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of prevention activities in the command.
Advise the Commanding General on the development of primary prevention initiatives affecting individual and unit readiness.
Exercises delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the prevention system and processes.
Maintains effective oversight of the command’s Primary Prevention System that encompasses human resources, collaborative relationships and infrastructure.
Requirements
- SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 , This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- CLASSIFICATION NONDISCLOSURE- This position requires access to classified information. The incumbent will be required to complete a Form SF-312, Classified Information Nondisclosure.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
A. Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the behavioral or social sciences, or in a related discipline that included at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in the behavioral or social sciences.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Specialized Experience Statement (HR/SME): One year of specialized experience which includes work such as 1) Overseeing prevention efforts pertaining to sexual assault, sexual harassment, substance abuse, suicide, domestic violence/child abuse, and others as needed; 2) planning and executing of current and multi-year, long range primary prevention activities and programs across various organizations; 3) Providing oral and written communication for prevention matters; 4) Supervising subordinate employees on Prevention matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
