This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Knowledge of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). Recommend and prepare operating policies and procedures for network services. Identify, recommend, test, and implement networking solutions. Proves recommendations, methods, procedures, and solutions for IT corrective actions and performance improvement. Performs site surveys and monitors site preparation progress.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Shift work may be necessary during crises, contingencies, or exercises. Incumbent may be required to temporarily work extended and irregular tours of duty to include days, nights, shift, and weekends.
  • One-year term trial period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Requitement.
  • Must obtain DOD8570.1M requirement and maintain IT-II level certification within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal servicewhich includes researching, developing and implementing complex networking systems, initiating corrective actions plans to improve and accomplish network requirements and maintaining network communication systems; working with complex networks and infrastructures, installing and managing local area networks (LAN), and wireless local area networks (WLAN); Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and understand programming languages; Coordinate related functions to network and telecommunication systems ; Provide technical support to customers who need advice, assistance and training regarding network issues; Apply Information Assurance (IA) polices, principles and practices to network devices and services. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
