About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Develop plans, policies, guidelines, and directives governing information assurance practices. Prepare and present briefs to multiple level of management and higher headquarters.   • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must have an DOD 8570 and/or 8140 IAM level II certification within six months of appointment to the position in order to serve as ISSM\ISSO for the installation and in support of a network enclave.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (INFOSEC):Specialized Experience : Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes experience in monitoring and evaluating systems' compliance with information technology security requirement. Provide advice and guidance in implementing information technology security policies and procedures in the development and operations of network systems. Ensure proper protection of evidence used in investigating computer crimes. My IT-related experience demonstrates each of the four competencies as defined: 1) Attention to Detail-being thorough when providing oversight of information technology and attending to detail in application of IT information security policies and procedures. 2) Customer Service-Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies or organizations outside the Government); knowledgeable about IT products and services and committed to providing quality products and services; 3) Oral Communication Expresses information by keeping the organization informed of Information Technology regulatory procedures and 4) Problem Solving-Identifies problems; provide support and resolution of IT problems. 1. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation. (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
