The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Air Force Inspection Agency, Enterprise Support Directorate.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Air Force Inspection Agency, ensuring that Enterprise Support Directorate complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Air Force Inspection Agency with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Develops, sustains and updates curricula for six different programs that support the DAF IG-Enterprise. Oversees Unit Effectiveness Inspections and Readiness Inspections to ensure accurate assessment and reporting of readiness and lethality to the commander and senior leaders.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Within six months of assumption of duties the incumbent must become certified and maintain qualifications as an IG inspector and instructor.

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in resents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administration and Management Positions, Management and Program Analysis Series 0343.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the Inspector General and instructional development theory, principles, methods, practices and techniques; knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; knowledge of exercise program management along with the knowledge of research methods and assessment techniques to produce leading indicators on program health; knowledge of AF inspection system to include Unit Effectiveness/Management Inspections, Nuclear Surety Inspections and Readiness Inspections.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the Inspector General and instructional development theory, principles, methods, practices and techniques.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of exercise program management along with the knowledge of research methods and assessment techniques to produce leading indicators on program health.
Knowledge of AF inspection system to include Unit Effectiveness/Management Inspections, Nuclear Surety Inspections and Readiness Inspections.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
