THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a MOBILIZATION DEPLOYMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2025000 and is part of the ND G3, National Guard.

Duties

As a MOBILIZATION AND DEPLOYMENT SPECIALIST, the primary purpose is to be performed in the areas of Mobilization Readiness including Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) and Soldier Readiness Checks (SRC). Incumbent provides oversight, planning, interpretation and application of policy. Also provides final review and validation of products for presentation through chain of command. Coordinates and synchronizes SRPs and SRCs in concert with other Staff elements. Develops, coordinates, and distributes guidelines for formalizing and structuring Soldier Readiness Processing and Soldier Readiness Checks at all levels, to include company, battalion, and brigade levels. Coordinates with the mobilizing unit chain of command, intermediate commands, SRP site proponent, JFHQ, Mobilization Station LNO, and various State agencies and organizations to ensure that procedures meet office needs and are consistently understood and followed. Assists and advises action officers on all procedural and administrative aspects of staff actions. Under the direction of the supervisor and knowledge of functional assignment and areas of expertise, assigns actions, with annotation on any applicable background material, to the appropriate office within the directorate. Maintains Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) master calendars and related appointment/meeting schedules.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted, Warrant Officers (WO1 to CW4) and Officer (O1 to O3) or those holding certificate. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess the required one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level or civilian equivalent experience; 1) providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; 2) thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management; 3) experience developing administrative procedures. Or A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to the position. Or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a degree in a field related to the position. Or LL.B. or J.D., if related You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Refer to "How you will be Evaluated" section of this announcement.
