This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS), Headquarters Office in Washington, DC of the FDIC in the Technology Services Branch (TSB) Applied Technology Section (ATS) and assists in the development, implementation and enhancement of IT management systems in support of the Division’s mission, business lines, and strategic and operational objectives in designing and maintaining cost effective information gathering, storage, retrieval and analysis applications. 

Duties

Serves as the principle in the development and execution of RMS and IT operational and organizational change initiatives. Assists in the development, implementation and enhancement of information management systems, business lines and strategic and operational objectives. Performs needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions; and Identifies, analyzes, and documents risks issues and communicates decisions. Leads, coordinates, integrates, and is accountable for the overall project management success of the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of Division applications, models, tracking systems, and reporting tool. Collaborates with RMS executives, managers, and other divisions to achieve coordinated IT management objectives necessary to fulfill FDIC and RMS objectives for supervision. Researches and answers technical inquiries on a wide array of issues or systems.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience utilizing information technologies and applying the principles and methods of business requirement analysis to lead and manage an IT program including hardware, software, application development, maintenance, operations, network and website and website applications. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
