About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.
Duties
Perform various duties to test, repair, rework, adjust, modify and overhaul a variety of aircraft electrical components and devices.
Completely disassemble, overhaul and assemble or return to an operating condition in accordance with technical manuals and established work procedures.
Conduct appropriate tests to diagnose malfunctions, referring to blueprints, technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's specifications.
Use test sets, ohmmeters, voltmeters, megameters, ampmeters, and micrometers.
Repair and balance armatures, repair connections, faulty wiring, meters, regulators, solenoid valves, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- This position requires a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position requires a Personnel Security Background investigation (Tier 1, Non Sensitive, Low Risk).

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrical Equipment Repairer without more than normal supervision. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic checks, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test electrical equipment and components of electrical aircraft devices. Ability to use some test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, growlers, meggers, and test sets to test for shorts, continuity, and defective wiring and connections. Using standard hand tools and micrometers. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Requires long periods of sitting or standing at work bench, shop machinery, or test equipment. Required to move, position, and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Lifting devices such as hoists are available for lifting certain items.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in shop environment at work bench or test/repair equipment/machinery. Exposed to electrical shock, cuts, burns, bruises from working with hand tools and equipment, lubricants, cleaning fluids. Required to wear safety shoes and glasses, face shields and goggles when operating equipment, and gloves, ear protection and dust shields as appropriate. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the work.
