About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Duties

Responsible for assisting with the control and coordination of all required actions to support the successful deployment, operation and management of the Defense Travel System (DTS). Implement and manage the day-to-day activities during system operations (e.g., personnel data download and review, business process analysis, DTA training and Commercial Travel Office (CTO). Responsible and accountable for the site's data requirements, including the user profiles, organization hierarchy, routing groups, per diem rates and lines of accounting, etc. Perform a variety of budgetary and administrative functions in implementing the organization's travel program, policies, and procedures. Responsible for collecting monthly invoices and billing statements from the local CTO office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain a Financial Management Level 1 Certification. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • Immunization screening may be required.
  • This position requires a minimum Secret security clearance. The incumbent must remain eligible for the required clearance at all times while serving in this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical work in support of accounting, budgeting, or financial management functions by utilizing automated system software (such as Defense Travel System (DTS), Excel, Access) to access, retrieve and generate various financial transaction data and reports; and reviewing documents/receipts for accuracy and compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Financial Administration or Accounting. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Decision SupportFinancial Management SystemsFundamentals & Operations of Finance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
