About the Position: This is a Training Instructor position at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, New York.

Duties
Responsible for all Electronic Health Record (EHR) related training to all assigned personnel at assigned Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) as required.
Identify the need for and conducts remedial training.
Review new or changed training procedures, policies, and regulations, and ensure implementation.
Continually review and evaluate effectiveness of performance and quality of results of the training processes and products through analysis of all training documents, reports, studies, and publications.
Communicate with system users and system developers and identify changes in the system or hospital clinical environment that will affect training.
Provide expertise in support of training operations of the DoD Electronic Health Record which include outpatient clinical information systems and inpatient clinical systems in conjunction with Office Automation (OA) applications.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to work outside normal duty hours to meet the needs of the customer.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) is required up to 35%.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a National Agency Background Check as a condition of employment.
- Physical exam may be required.
- All employees assigned to a military treatment facility (MTF) are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk and are subject to missing/required immunizations.
- This position may have specific background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a regular or recurring basis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes administering a training program; independently planning a training schedule for a medical treatment facility; coordinating with senior clinical systems trainers; teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, education, or health information management. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
