About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command, G2 Section, Operations/ Intelligence Division Fort Meade, MD.

Duties

Serves as multi-discipline Security Specialist. Resolves difficult and complex security issues. Conducts inspections of Technical Security programs Conducts Information Security (INFOSEC) briefings/training for serviced personnel. Develop solutions and new processes or procedures and recommend changes to existing policy and procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May be required to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, if required for Special Access Program.
• This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• May be required to carry a government cell phone when conducting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) On-Call or other On-Call duty outside of normal duty hours.
• May be required to be on a 15-20 minute recall string.
• May be required to be trained to open/close the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
• May be required to work occasional shifts, holiday work, and compensatory/paid overtime as required.
• May be required to work additional non-standard duty hours during crisis or to meet mission tasking.
