You will serve as a EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT in the COMNAVSPECWARGRUEIGHT of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.

Duties

You will act as key advisor for preparing Command Group personnel for interactions with Commander, Executive Director, Chief Staff Officer, and Command Master Chief to include pre-meetings, discussions, read-aheads, arranging meeting attendees, etc. You will coordinates the resolution of action items generated as a result of correspondence review by the Commander. You will screen all correspondence addressed to the Command Group and directs it to the appropriate staff member; personally handles items of a routine or administrative nature. You will monitor, compile, and prepare recurring reports from records. Undertakes special projects to develop information or background regarding issues of immediate concern. You will coordinate all arrangements for facilities and services, including billeting, transportation, and provision of required details. You will assist the Executive Director and Naval Special Warfare Command Human Resources Office with on boarding new personnel, out-processing exiting employees, and maintaining personnel files.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing administrative duties in support of executive leadership management functions such as managing executive leader schedules, correspondence, and travel; preparing materials for meetings; coordinating staff administrative workflows, products and programs which require executive oversight and/or action; and facilitating key leadership and conference engagements and protocols. GS:09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing administrative duties in support of executive leadership management functions such as managing executive leader schedules, preparing materials for meetings, and facilitating key leadership and conference engagements and protocols. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11:

Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

or
