The Deployed Forces program is responsible for ensuring that shipboard and home-ported military personnel are given the opportunity to participate in recreation programs. The purpose of this position is to assist the Deployed Forces Coordinator to implement and execute the CNIC Fleet Recreation Operation and Maintenance, Navy equipment grant program and provide formal training to shipboard recreation services personnel within the Mid-Atlantic Region.

- Position has been designated Non-Critical sensitive. As a position of trust and ITU position, employment is conditional on the successful competition of an Access National Agency Check (ANACI). Position requires eligibility for a secret clearance.
Qualifications

Must possess a thorough knowledge of the wide range of principles, concepts and techniques relating to:
Recreation such as would be gained through extensive experience in planning fitness and recreation programming.
Operating military fitness, fleet recreation or recreational facilities and programs, and the methods for promoting such programs.
Possess an extensive knowledge of exercise equipment suitable for shipboard use and skill in developing shipboard fitness spaces in order to provide a dynamic fitness and recreation program for the fleet.
Budgeting to be able to assist in coordinating the budget for inclusion in the overall recreation budget.
Purchasing and inventory control, to insure that consumables, supplies, and equipment are properly safeguarded.
Facility management to ensure that all spaces are fully and properly programmed, utilized, maintained and when necessary renovated or replaced.
Skill in developing new methods, approaches, and procedures to insure that programs are kept current with patron desires, and full utilization of resources consistently realized.
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban or community recreation; special populations recreation (e.g., senior citizens, institutional, etc.); or physical education.

Experience
General Experience: Experience that provided a knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation, and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated the ability to apply the principles of one or more specialty areas of recreation. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Planning. organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community. industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
Planning, establishing, or evaluating a recreational curriculum for junior college or higher academic levels.
Instructing in the principles and techniques of recreational program planning and
management.
Serving in a leadership role in the programs and activities of local, regional, and/or national recreational organizations.
