You will serve as a FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII in support of NAVY CLOSURE TASK FORCE RED HILL.

Duties

You will monitor services and expenditures to ensure proper availability of funds. You will perform work monitoring to ensure facilities assignments are being completed in a timely manner. You will ensure that MAXIMO reflects an accurate inventory for assigned buildings. You will conduct and attend meetings and visits to identify any facility problems that have developed, facilitate work execution, and advise on supported command projects.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in applying technical principles, directives, and methods of facility management to maintain facilities and facility assets in good working order; 2) Assisting in applying financial regulations to determine the correct type of funding for facility and equipment issues; 3)Forecasting usage rates using facility and facility equipment principles and techniques; 4) Recommending proper prioritization of facility and equipment requirements and initiation of new projects within the context of the command.
