Duties
As a Supervisor Facility Operations Specialist you will,
Serve as the facility management expert and member of the park management team.
Monitor and evaluate maintenance programs affecting park operations.
Manage Facility Management software systems for cost effective management of assets.
Plan, schedule and direct work to operate facilities and assets at their most effective level.
Develop and implement projects for facility modifications, including historic structures.
Implement a comprehensive safety and training program.
Develop and manage the division's budget, utilizing the NPS financial management programs.
Develop annual and multiyear programs to augment park base funds in the effective management of facilities and equipment (e.g., cyclic maintenance, repair/rehab, etc.)
Implement environmental management systems for compliance with federal and state regulations.
Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative when needed.
Exercise full range of supervisory duties including recruitment and selection, establishing work schedules and priorities, approving leave, evaluating performance, identifying training needs, resolving complaints or minor grievances, and actively supporting EEO programs.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/04/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: managing a maintenance program for at least three components relating to: potable water production to include surface and ground water, wastewater treatment including treatment plants and septic, underground utilities including sewers, water and power, high voltage electrical including transmission, distribution. In addition, supervision to include employee and subordinate supervisors; management budget development, including annual and long-term programs; developing short-term and long-term utilities maintenance activity plans, and developing preventive maintenance programs. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
