This position is located in the Department of the Treasury, Departmental Offices (DO), Under Secretary Domestic Finance, Office of Financial Research (OFR), Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Data Operations. Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the OR-53. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Apply strong technical experience in a financial data management environment and a background in performing technical data activities to perform data quality verification, general scripting and coding, and report development. Provide first-level support to users of the department/functional area reporting environment to resolve problems and answer questions related to data collection, the reporting environment, and layered reports. Develop reports for various end users and design custom views for illustrating process results or to summarize large sets of data by interpreting the sources of data and deviation using existing OFR tools and infrastructure. Provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders by resolving problems and answering questions related to the reporting environment for internal systems. Ensure accurate, quality, and timely data collections through data review, data provider follow-up, profile/trend analysis and maintenance of associated documentation (e.g., Reporting Requirements, Technical Guidance, etc).

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the OR-53 (GS-13 equivalent): You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the OR-52 (GS-12 equivalent) in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: Analyzing financial market data from financial institutions, financial industry associations and/or financial regulatory bodies on multiple financial products, including at least four of the following: equities, debt, credit, options, derivatives, futures, commodities, swaps, securitized products, government securities (treasuries), repurchase agreements (repos), insurance products, annuities, mutual funds, money market funds, mortgages, hedge funds, payments, deposits, loans, credit, ratings; AND Utilizing data management tools including Excel and two or more of the following: XMLSpy, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL) or Tableau to independently conduct data analysis of large data files and databases; AND Executing one or more of these common project management methodologies: Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Waterfall or Lean while managing stakeholder partnerships in order to balance assignments and meet deadlines; AND Leading multiple time-sensitive, mission-critical data analysis initiatives within the banking, business, investment, economic, academic or other data-intensive industry; AND Experience developing and implementing automated processes, data solutions, programs, or analytics for business end-users. Specialized experience for the OR-52 (GS-12 equivalent): You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the OR-51 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: Analyzing financial market data from financial institutions, financial industry associations and/or financial regulatory bodies on financial products, including at least two of the following: equities, debt, credit, options, derivatives, futures, commodities, swaps, securitized products, government securities (treasuries), repurchase agreements (repos), insurance products, annuities, mutual funds, money market funds, mortgages, hedge funds, payments, deposits, loans, credit, ratings; AND Utilizing data management tools including Excel and one or more of the following: XMLSpy, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL) or Tableau to conduct data analysis of large data files and databases; AND Working knowledge of one or more of these common project management methodologies: Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Waterfall or Lean; AND Maintaining relationships in order to balance assignments and meet deadlines; AND Conducting data analysis on a variety of time-sensitive, mission-critical initiatives within the banking, business, investment, economic, academic or other data-intensive industry. Specialized experience for the OR-51 (GS-11 equivalent): You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the OR-42 (GS-9 equivalent) in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: Analyzing financial market data from financial institutions, financial industry associations and/or financial regulatory bodies on financial products, such as: equities, debt, credit, options, derivatives, futures, commodities, swaps, securitized products, government securities (treasuries), repurchase agreements (repos), insurance products, annuities, mutual funds, money market funds, mortgages, hedge funds, payments, deposits, loans, credit, ratings; AND Utilizing data management tools including at least one of the following, XMLSpy, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), Tableau or Excel to conduct data analysis of large data files and databases; AND - Executing in a collaborative team environment and operating under common project management principles and practices including Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Waterfall or Lean; AND Conducting data analysis on time-sensitive initiatives within the banking, business, investment, economic, academic or other data-intensive industry; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related; OR A combination of education and experience totaling 100%. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
