The Antitrust Division is hiring Administrative Specialists across multiple Washington, D.C. based teams to gain invaluable experience working in the public interest to protect the competitive process.

Duties
This position will join one of the Antitrust Division's Washington, D.C. based teams and provide administrative and program management support for the assigned team.
The Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice works in the public interest to promote a competitive and productive American economy. The Division's work ranges over the entire spectrum of the U.S. economy. Its merger and civil enforcement cases can affect the structure and performance of an entire industry and its criminal enforcement detects and punishes white-collar antitrust crimes that rob American consumers. The Division enforces federal antitrust law, pursuing price-fixing and market allocation schemes, investigating mergers that may substantially reduce competition, and investigating other potentially anti-competitive conduct. The highest priorities of the Division are preventing anti-competitive mergers and acquisitions, curbing abuse of monopoly power, and prosecuting criminal bid-rigging and price-fixing cases..
As an Administrative Specialist, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Preparing, proofreading, and reviewing reports, letters, and other documents providing recommendations for management programs, policies, and activities.
Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on questions and situations related to administrative services.
Responsibility for team administrative duties to include travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, escorting visitors, and managing team office space allocation.
Gathering information, identifying, and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve complex organizational problems or
developing and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
Participating in the development of new plans, schedules, or methods to accommodate changing program requirements.
Identifying objectives based on an analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs.
Participating in planning sessions with supervisors and program managers to provide necessary information pertaining to the team's administrative operations.
Performing a variety of miscellaneous legal, technical, clerical, and administrative duties in support of the assigned team, including maintaining and updating records as required, and ensuring that the functional file system for the team is maintained, and that records and files are disposed of in accordance with appropriate DOJ regulations.
Compiling information that provides insight on legal issues and situations.
Providing support to and assisting attorneys, economists, paralegals on legal assignments such as responding to inquiries from courts, client agencies, fact, or expert witnesses.
Utilizing available software technology, such as word processing, spreadsheets, computer graphics, specialized software such as litigation support software,
or database applications to manage, track, and organize legal case information.
Tracking or organizing case and other legal information in the appropriate systems, such as word processing software, spreadsheets, computer graphics, presentation software, or database applications.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-0301-09 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0301-07 level that includes at least 2 of the 3 following areas listed below.
Experience managing the administrative functions for a team, including at least 6 of the following duties: travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, and managing team office space allocation;
Experience drafting correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other written work products that are grammatically correct; professional; free from spelling errors; and that are clear and easy to understand;
Experience managing multiple simultaneous assignments and effectively managing time to meet established deadlines.
To qualify for this position at the GS-0301-11 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0301-09 level that includes at least 4 of the 6 following areas listed below.
Experience managing the administrative functions for a team, including at least 8 of the following duties: travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, and managing team office space allocation;
Experience drafting correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other written work products that are grammatically correct; professional; free from spelling errors; and that are clear and easy to understand;
Experience managing multiple simultaneous assignments and effectively managing time to meet established deadlines both for individually assigned tasks and tasks assigned to a team;
Experience making well-informed decisions by carefully examining the implications and possible consequences of a particular course of action, effectively weighing alternatives, and proactively identifying solutions;
Experience consistently accepting personal responsibility for dependability and accomplishing assigned tasks;
Experience bringing attention to detail to work as demonstrated by focusing on all aspects of a task or project and ensuring that they are completed accurately and thoroughly.
To qualify for this position at the GS-0301-12 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0301-11 level that includes at least 5 of the 7 following areas listed below.
Experience managing the administrative functions for a team, including at least 10 of the following duties: travel administration, document management, timekeeping, scheduling, correspondence management, invoice management, records management, performance management, training coordination, office supply management, using automated systems to log and track data, and managing team office space allocation;
Experience drafting correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other written work products that are grammatically correct; professional; free from spelling errors; and that are clear and easy to understand;
Experience managing multiple simultaneous assignments and effectively managing time to meet established deadlines both for individually assigned tasks and tasks assigned to a team;
Experience working in a self-directed environment, independently taking initiative, proactively following up, providing support without being asked, and adjusting to changing priorities while still timely completing assignments;
Experience making well-informed decisions by carefully examining the implications and possible consequences of a particular course of action, effectively weighing alternatives, and proactively identifying solutions;
Experience consistently accepting personal responsibility for dependability and accomplishing assigned tasks;
Experience bringing attention to detail to work as demonstrated by focusing on all aspects of a task or project and ensuring that they are completed accurately and thoroughly.
Education
You qualify at the GS-09 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combining Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
All academic degrees and course work must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the
