Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Leading or managing policy, program, or regulatory matters related to the chemical industry/engineering, chemical regulations/compliance, or chemical threats; Advising senior leaders on technical or analytical methods and techniques related to the implementation of, compliance with, or interpretation of the Chemical Weapons Convention; Providing recommendations to senior leadership on compliance, regulatory matters, and/or the adjudication of policies; and Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to make policy recommendations and decisions.
